Alyssa Joy

Visual Artist

Alyssa Joy is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist born in Bicol, Philippines, and raised in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. She began painting in 2016 during a season of depression and insomnia, when art became both expression and survival. What started as a personal outlet evolved into a powerful practice of healing, storytelling, and spiritual reflection.

Working primarily in painting and mixed media, her work explores themes of pain, safety, self-love, joy, and liberation from trauma. Deeply rooted in faith and transformation, her art reflects her journey of healing and life experiences as well as experiences of those around her.

Her exhibitions include My Homies (Art Loud LA x Valence Projects, 2024), Ivy House Hermosa Gallery (2023), and Sab Gallery (2023). She is the founder of Hunnid Hearts (@hunnidhearts) and Pretty Pictures LA (@prettypicturesla), bridging faith, culture, and collective healing through art and community.
